About

Through our Struggle, We are Unified
Through our Unity, We are Strong
Through our Strength, We are Disciplined
Through our Discipline, We shall Prosper

Together we stand unified.
United we are never alone.
As one we shall overcome.

Integrity - To support the community is to support the individual, through hard work and cooperation, no challenge is too great. We shall not suffer the same divergence of many who wish to help those in need but ultimately perpetuate neediness.

Community – Together as one we stand united. As a network of individuals in the pursuit of improvement, we are forever teaching, learning, and growing.

Liberty – In Financial, Social, Spiritual, and Emotional stability shall one be freed of worry and obtain peace of mind and thusly, enlightenment.

Vision Statement:
No more hand outs… it’s time for a hand up

Thomas Alva Edison once said “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time”. However utopian it would appear, our purpose is to make positive and effective guidance possible through creating communities of selfless and humane individuals who believe not only in themselves, but more importantly… in each other. Society will never rid itself of poverty if it cannot live within its means, recognize that all poverty is not self inflicted, and remain unconcerned with the well being of others. We see a future where cities of competent selfless can take a broken person and mend them productivity and take a skilled person and turn them to a Renaissance Elite. There are good and honest people that have fallen on hard times... they don’t need a hand out as they have the strength to stand on their own if only given a hand up.

Mission Statement:
Through the combined efforts and resources of hopeful and helpful people, we shall create a community of cooperative individuals, willing to share their life experiences, wisdom, and knowledge to help in the physical, emotional, and financial well being of their neighbor. Through planned community living, technology, and the availability of classrooms and workspaces, our community members will have the diversified competencies to blossom in any environment.

We understand “looking out for number one”, but this is neither the time nor the place anymore for such a mentality. It is that state of mind that assists in the perpetuation of the misery we see every day. We want to build a community of people who are for the community and not themselves alone. Of people who know how to be selfless and compassionate and where goodness is a way of life and not an obligation. Melding technology with nature we will build homes that reduce our dependency for energy whilst protecting us from nature’s throes. The energy consumed will be innovative and clean. Whilst we harness these technologies to simplify our needs and luxury, they would not be central to our function. Maintaining an open and dynamic mentality we will remain unaffected should any or all of our technology fail.

Through our program, a person could survive with nothing but the agricultural prowess we have imparted unto them, but be prepared with an arsenal of skills that could serve as a foundation for any number of jobs they would like to pursue.

However lofty, though, these ideals may appear, little if any is possible without the full cooperation of a community. Such cooperation and intra-dependence is crucial to the success of this vision and we are confident that, with the right people, there is no obstacle that cannot be overcome.

"Teaching a man to fish"

The idea is to create a foothold upon which people can gain composure and begin working towards building a new life for themselves. The concept is to create a facility with low overhead, making it affordable living quarters. All members within the UNITI Community Center's (UCC) first "Family" phase are required to hold jobs to contribute a "gratuity" fee into the housing fund which will cover utilities and a percentage extra toward the UCC fund which will provide for repairs, add-ons, and expansions. The UCC will have skilled volunteers in areas of industry, technology, and agriculture that will be able to teach members of the UCC new skill sets that will help them contribute more to society and be more functional in the job market.

Once the UCC becomes self-sustaining, we will be able to provide services to those without homes or work in an attempt to reintroduce them into the job market. The nature of the system in place is such that anyone who attempts to take advantage of the system will quickly become apparent and will swiftly be removed, making room for those in society who genuinely wish to make a better life for themselves. Participants, once stable, can then have the income necessary to acquire transportation and, eventually, living quarters of their own, should they so desire. In the meantime however, we will be able to provide transportation via carpool. Members who have graduated from the program and made a new life for themselves are encouraged to participate in the UNITI Alumni Foundation. Through charitable contributions, we will be able to further the endeavor and offer a broader variety of services... all funds go towards helping us help others. Those who wish to remain a permanent resident of the facility, in essence, promise their services to the community and can stay at an increased cost that will, again, go towards helping us help others.

At this point, you might be asking: "What about me? And my needs?"

This community is not for the less-fortunate alone. Many are welcome to join us in our endeavor to create supportive societies with a need to improve the lives of those around them and the well-being of our surroundings. Our system is structured around continuous expansion, should the first UCC be filled with those who already have stable lifestyles and seek only a new way of living, it will help generate the revenue necessary to expand the facility multiple times to house more who wish to participate or for those who will need it.

What's most important to remember is that there is never room for the selfish and inconsiderate. This community revolves only around those with a good heart and a right mind for helping one another (regardless of status), anything less can look elsewhere to the myriad of other establishments available.

"There is no use whatever trying to help people who do not help themselves. You cannot push anyone up a ladder unless he is willing to climb himself." ~Andrew Carnegie

"It's easy to make a buck. It's a lot tougher to make a difference." ~Tom Brokaw

"I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again." ~William Penn

"I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do." ~Edward Everett Hale

Symbolism & Philosophy 1:

Yin-Yang

Most people are familiar with this symbol. Be it the balance between righteousness and evil, or that "without beauty there is no ugly and without ugly there is no beauty" etc... Figuratively this represents a view of the universe from an unfathomable distance. From so far away it's so clear, the differences between good and bad, light and dark, righteousness and evil, etc. But like an image on a computer, when you zoom in, it becomes pixilated (or blocky), the image becomes unclear and that stark contrast between white and black, good and evil... becomes gray... indistinguishable from one another.

Yin-Yang-Yuan

We use the following in our UNITI insignia. Taking the prior message into consideration, this would be the figurative view of the planet… there are sometimes the contrast between right and wrong, but there is a definitive gray area where so much is left to interpretation. You'll notice, however, that the Yuan (the gray) has within it another Yin-Yang that spirals infinitely inward... this represents the turmoil of good and bad that's ever flowing within the gray. We represent the gray area... neutral, not judgmental, neither good nor evil. The darkness often retreats from the light, similarly, when you've been in the dark and suddenly enter a bright room, it is painful to the eyes... we aim to be the transitional zone. Where we can bring people from a less-than-understanding or otherwise harsh environment and guide them slowly into a place where they can truly and genuinely be joyful.

We are politically unaffiliated, we are non-religious, and though our ethics, morals, etc., may not be the same as everyone's, we'd like to think they are of a good nature. Though the founding members are spiritual in nature, they do not impose this on others... patience, kindness, mercy, love, and understanding are things that every people of every faith can embrace.

Symbolism and Philosophy 2:

UNITI -- United National Initiative Towards Improvement

Now understanding the meaning behind the Yin-Yang-Yuan, you can almost see that there is an image of the earth within it, which represents, not only a global initiative, but an Earth conscious one. Our facilities will be as "green" as they can be, embracing agriculture and the maintenance of our environment... however, the gear represents industry, in that we embrace technology. We seek to find harmony and balance between nature and technology. Although we teach agriculture, we also wish to teach about industrial skills, welding, carpentry, automobiles, etc... Last, but not least, the dove, universally representing peace and most importantly, hope.

The formal “stamp” or “seal” of our entity.
